After School Physical Activity Ideas: An interactive website filled with physical activities and games designed to keep students active afterschool. Learn how to play a myriad of new street games; cooperative games; activities with a twist; multi-cultural activities! Developed by the San Diego Office of Education. Grades 4-8.

BAM! Body and Minds: A provider/teacher support site which provides interactive, educational, and fun activities that are linked to national education standards for science and health set by the National Research Council, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Joint Committee for National School Health Education Standards. Youth Ages 9-13

Be Well Book: A FREE book entitled "Be Well. Messages from Moms on Living Healthier Lives" shares stories of how parents are helping their children to lead healthier lives. Teens & Families.

BodyWorks: A FREE downloadable toolkit for healthy teens and strong families. Created by the National Women's Health Center, the toolkit includes: how to guides; food & fitness journal; video; recipe book; and shopping list. Teens & Families.

CATCH Kids Club: (Children And Adolescent Trial for Cardiovascular Health) An after-school program proven to help children improve nutrition and motivate heart healthy behavior. It also works to change the environments of recreation departments, after-school programs, and homes. Preschool - 8 Yrs

Eat Move Learn: Download Lesson Plans!  Eat, Move, Learn is organized around the idea that we must "balance" the energy we take in through our food and the energy we spend in physical activity. This program will help youth to analyze the problems of food and fitness, find promising solutions to energy imbalance, and design a study to test your ideas.

Eat Well and Keep Moving!: Free Sample Lesson Plans!  Eat Well & Keep Moving! is a curriculum that helps academic, physical education, and health education teachers guide students in these areas: 1) Learning about nutrition and physical activity while building skills in language arts, math, science, and social studies; 2) Understanding how health behaviors are interrelated; and 3) Choosing healthy foods, increasing physical activity, and limiting TV and other screen time. Food & Fun: A FREE curriculum designed to develop healthy habits out of school time. Ten teaching units help after school and other programs infuse healthy snacks, physically active games, and creative learning activities into regular program schedules. Provided by the Harvard Prevention Research Center.

Girls on the Run!®: Learn about life-changing, experiential learning programs for girls age eight to thirteen years old. The programs combine training for a 3.1 mile running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. The goals of the programs are to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physical development.

Healthy Children, Healthy Futures: A program which provides curriculum for educating both children and parents to become advocates — through their schools, families and communities — for healthy eating and increased physical activity. Youth Ages 9-14

JIFF: Jump Into Fitness: Having fun with the serious business of teaching kids about healthy food choices and being physically active is built into Jump Into Foods and Fitness (JIFF), a research-based curriculum for adults and older teens to use with kids. Youth Ages 8-11

Kids 4 Broadway: A children's theatre program which motivates young people to appreciate the value of learning and discovery, while continuing to help build their self-confidence and feelings of self worth. A variety of stage acitivies allow children to become involved on all levels - intellectually, intuitively and physically. Youth Ages 7-17

KidTribe: An international health and wellness program for children, KidTribe offers a myriad of unique services which help to elevate self-esteem, create community and promote health for the children in today’s world. Youth Ages 5 -18

Let's Move!: GREAT RESOURCES!  Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the problem of obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams.

Media-Smart Youth: Eat, Think, and Be Active!: FREE WORKSHOP CURRICULUM!  An engaging and exciting curriculum which helps young people understand the complex media world around them. It also helps them make thoughtful decisions about issues important to their health, specifically nutrition and physical activity. Order your free curriculum today! Youth Ages 11-13

Operation FitKids: The FREE ACE curriculum (a $99.95 value) is designed for educators looking to integrate health and fitness into classroom learning. The seven-lesson curricula are available for both grades 3-5 and grades 6-8, to teach students the extreme dangers of being overweight and the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.

Speed Stacks: Sport Stacking is a fitness based sport that kids from all backgrounds and abilities can do, which helps students develop bilateral proficiency (equal performance on both sides of the body). By increasing bilateral proficiency, a student develops a greater percentage of the right side of the brain, which houses awareness, focus, creativity and rhythm. Stacking helps train the brain for sports and other activities where the use of both hands is important, such as playing a musical instrument or using the computer. Sequencing and patterning are also elements of sport stacking, which can help with reading and math skills.

SPARK! After School: The SPARK after school philosophy: Include ALL youth, actively engage ALL youth, and instill the love of lifelong movement in ALL youth. SPARK curriculum includes cooperative, cultural and aerobic games, dances from around the world, and fun, skill developing sport activities. Workshops and equipment are also available through the SPARK store. Youth Ages 5-14

A World Fit for Kids: This program helps students improve their own physical, mental and emotional fitness through sports, fitness and peer leadership training. It also offers mentorship training and provides life skills for the student's successful integration into school, the workplace and the larger community. Grades K - 12
